All too familiar...
A call of desperation early in the morning... calls at such hours make my mom's heart skip a beat, because last time she made such calls, my dad has passed away... today.... it was a call that Joyce's father had passed away, yes in HK.
The mad rush to the airport. The look in Joyce's face, the sorrow mixed with a renewed sense of responsibilty to take care of mom, and a 15 year old younger sibling.. all too familiar. The long road ahead...really pray it will be easier on them... pray that they might be able to see hope in a such a grey time at this..
really hope that when she comes back to Toronto she'll have a community to be there for her, help her..
Joyce just ask and we'll help.
As I sat there in the airport, I looked around, so many people rushing off to places; business meeting, travel... at the moment, there are some who are suffering deep sorrow, a death in the family...
As Joyce and Vincent entered the gates for custom, my mom and I broke down in tears. My mom kept saying how fragile life is, and if only people would see that and live life differently. People would learn to forgive, not hold grudges. People would work on relationship rather than argue, cos nothing is worse than when you've found your soulmate and loose him/her. People would learn to accept their parents nagging and love them back cos they aren't always around...
